Online Dating Profile Pictures….a must!

So as we all know I am back on RSVP.

I got matched with someone, 5 stars which, appears to be a perfect match. He then sent me a kiss.

Just off the topic for a second. What the hell is with RSVP and its kiss options? They are so tacky and lame “I think you are cute! Want to chat?” It’s like a really bad pick up line in a bar. My favourite is “Thank you but I am looking for someone closer to my age” this goes out to the men who are old enough to be my father. Yes I like older men but 40 is my cut off. 63 and bald, I don’t dig it. My mother might though.

Back to the Kiss, it states that he would like to get to know me. Now I know it’s vain but usually I don’t bother with the whole hidden photo. I don’t care what anyone says, you need to be attracted to someone. Instead I read his profile, he sounds great. I write back (from the tacky lame ass kiss options I have) thanks I am intrigued I would like to hear back from you. That was my way of saying, please upload a picture. Instead he used a stamp and wants to catch up.

Do I take a punt and just go for it and hope he isn’t some old man moonlighting as a 29 year old or should I come straight out and just say “hey can I see a picture?”

Gosh I love the world of online dating, what will technology provide us with next.

  1. Those kiss options were so terrible. I went for the more neutral options when I was on RSVP. All the others seemed like they came from a bleached haired polo wearing douche who doesn’t have an original thought in his brain.

Pictures are important. Sooner the better. Usually people will send you pictures if you ask them.

    • I really don’t understand the “I really enjoyed reading your profile one” – how do you respond to that. It’s a statement and there is is no plain “thanks” as a return respond and then if you don’t respond it just lingers in your inbox. Stupid website. They need single people who use it, to redesign it!
